Hear from Our Global Delegates

Joining my fourth AYIMUN virtual conference as the Delegate of the United Kingdom in the United Nations Security Council was both challenging and fulfilling. I'm grateful to have finally achieved my long-awaited goal of receiving the Best Delegate Award.

Debating pressing issues like the Israel-Iran conflict and nuclear non-proliferation strengthened my belief that in diplomacy, your voice is your greatest weapon — it has the power to represent your country, build alliances, and create meaningful change.

My advice: prepare well, speak up, go beyond your script, and truly engage with others. AYIMUN is not just about awards, but about growth, leadership, and building connections for a more peaceful future.

Receiving the Best Delegate Award at the 24th AYIMUN Virtual Conference was truly an honor. Representing Switzerland in the UN Women Committee and discussing women's representation in STEM careers was an eye-opening and meaningful experience.

Switzerland's neutral stance helped me approach the debate in a balanced and inclusive way. Throughout my journey, I learned so much about diplomacy, negotiation, and how youth voices can contribute to global conversations.

AYIMUN pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me grow tremendously — especially as someone who once started out completely clueless. It's truly one of the best platforms for young people to learn, connect, and shine.
