Alumni Story : Lukas Norman Kbarek - Indonesia
Hello, I’m so glad to have this opportunity to tell my story starting from how I joined AYIMUN, my best moment, the things I got, and my messages for future delegates; every single thing will surely open up your eyes and mind towards the importance of MUN.
Actually, it was my first time joining this event. I thought I couldn’t get through it because there were just so many great people at AYIMUN. I didn’t know what I would do, but I tried to follow the step-by-step registration. Done with the registration, I was already feeling overly excited to set my foot at AYIMUN. Despite my excitement, I was utterly nervous when the Opening Ceremony started.
I thought it was like my dream came true. The moment I managed to follow every part of this event just fine, I knew then that experience was the best teacher. I’m so proud to be a part of AYIMUN 2018, because I have obtained new knowledge, new friends and especially great mindsets from people around the world. I’m so happy because this is one of many great events in the world.
For me, the best moment at AYIMUN was the last meeting session; it was when my chair of UNESCO choose me to review the result of discussion for Draft Resolution. I wasn’t prepared for that, but I just winged it with confidence and tried my best. Upon speaking up, I was absolutely a nervous wreck. So, I suggest everyone who wants to participate in a conference-like event to prepare everything very well.
At AYIMUN 2018, I obtained new knowledge, great experience and outstanding critical thinking from youths across the globe, new friends as well as diplomatic skills.
To all future delegates of AYIMUN, be the gold generation in the future. You’re the change the world needs!
